Richland High School Announces New Bomber Wrestling Head Coaches

Richland High School is proud to announce the hiring of two new head coaches to lead the Bomber wrestling programs: Samantha Dufault as Head Coach of the Girls Wrestling Program and Tyson Stover as Head Coach of the Boys Wrestling Program.

Both coaches bring strong wrestling backgrounds, proven leadership experience, and deep connections to the Richland wrestling community as they step into their new roles.

Samantha Dufault, a Richland alumna and former wrestler in the program, has served as an assistant coach for the Bomber girls wrestling team for the past four years. During that time, she played a key role in the program’s growth and success, helping lead the Bombers to their first-ever Girls Wrestling State Championship and mentoring the program’s first individual girls state champion.

Dufault said she is honored to continue building on the program’s success.

“I’m incredibly honored to have the opportunity to serve as the first head coach for girls wrestling at Richland High School,” said Dufault. “This was a decision I approached with a great deal of thought and faith, and I feel truly blessed to continue being part of a program that means so much to me.”

Richland Athletic Director Adrian Ochoa praised Dufault’s commitment to student-athletes and the wrestling community.

“Samantha has already had a tremendous impact on our girls wrestling program,” said Ochoa. “Her passion for Richland wrestling, commitment to our student-athletes, and success as a coach already make her the ideal person to lead the Bombers into the future. We are excited to see the program continue to thrive under her leadership.”

Tyson Stover also brings an impressive wrestling résumé to Richland High School. A Tri-Cities native, former Washington State Champion, and four-time state placer at Chiawana High School, Stover continued his collegiate wrestling career at Corban University, where he earned 85 career wins — second-most in program history — while qualifying for the NAIA National Tournament and earning Academic All-Conference honors.

Most recently, Stover served as a varsity assistant coach at Kamiakin High School. Ochoa said Stover’s leadership and experience make him a strong fit for the Bomber wrestling program.

“As much as we wanted to keep him, he was destined to be a head coach,” said Kamiakin Head Coach Jordan Anderson. “Richland is getting an outstanding coach and an even better person.”

“We are excited for the future of Bomber Wrestling under Coach Stover’s leadership and look forward to his impact on our athletes, program, and community,” Ochoa added.
