Fran Rish Stadium Moves Closer to Renovation

New turf, expanded restroom facilities, improved locker rooms and increased accessibility are one step closer for Fran Rish Stadium.

The Richland School Board recently approved the schematic design for the renovation of the home side and main entrance for the stadium. District leaders will now work with Chervenell Construction, the district’s approved general contractor and construction manager, so primary construction can begin in early 2022. The new facilities are scheduled to open in the fall of 2022.

The renovation is one of the projects paid for by the bond approved by voters in 2017. The project will cost roughly $10 million and make the following improvements:

  • New artificial turf
  • Resurfaced track
  • Improved home side grandstand bleachers with wheelchair access
  • Renovated locker rooms & training spaces
  • New 3,500-square-foot ticketing and restroom building
