Yearbook
Bringing the Bomber community together one photo at a time.
Richland High School Yearbook strives to create a documentation of what happens during the school year. The yearbook staff works together and creates a book, one the students and staff can be proud of and can reference for years to come.
Being in Yearbook is a commitment, but is rewarding work for any student who joins the Yearbook family. The editors and advisor teaches students how to produce a "history" book of events from that year, meet deadlines, and work as a group to complete a common goal. If you have any questions feel free to contact our staff regarding the yearbook, joining our staff, or any questions about purchasing a senior or business advertisement.
General Information
SENIOR PICTURES!
Senior Picture Information:
The senior section is one of the most important sections of the yearbook, and we want every senior's photo included. It is crucial that the quality of your student's image meets the printing standards set by our publishing company.
As of August 2020, the RHS yearbook staff will no longer accept senior photos on CD, USB, or in print. The process for turning in your (or your child's) senior photo will now be done electronically. We have set up a secure online account with our yearbook publisher, Herff Jones in which parents and/or professional photographers can upload a senior image. In order to ensure this transition is streamlined we will not accept photos via email to our advisor AT ALL. Seniors must be formally enrolled at Richland HS to submit a senior image.
Deadline:
The Deadline for submission is Monday, November 8th by 3:00PM.
How do I submit?
- To submit your child's photo click this link: http://www.hjeshare.com/eShare/?code=12064
- Once in eShare, fill out your contact information and choose the “CLICK HERE TO UPLOAD A STUDENT PORTRAIT-DUE BY 11/8/2021” button.
- Follow Steps 1-4 to upload your student portrait
Photo Requirements:
Images must meet the following guidelines or they may be not approved by the yearbook staff. (The RHS yearbook advisor reserves the right to refuse a photo based on appropriateness or quality of the photo). You will be notified if this situation arises. Photos need to be at least 4 in wide x 6 in high, VERTICAL, and all images need to be saved as a .JPEG or .JPG
When saving your image, please save them as LastName_FirstName ex: Smith_John.jpg
More Specific Submission Information:
To submit your child's photo online, please go to https://www.hjeshare.com/eShare/?code=12064 and use our school code: 12064. Once you have successfully entered our school portal, you should see "Richland High School" at the top of the web browser. To upload your image, you must first enter the first and last name of the user uploading the photo, NOT the seniors name. Please include the user's email and contact phone number should the yearbook staff need to contact the person in possession of the senior photo. Once the user has entered their information, please click on the green button, 'select images for upload.' Browse your computer for the image and select, 'choose.' Once you have attached your photo, please enter the students grade, first and last name, and a description of the photo. (A description may include the student's hair color, clothing, etc)
Photo Requirements:
- Photos MUST be vertical orientation and images fit BEST in our boxes when the shots are from the waist up (please keep this in mind).
- Headshots should be approximately 1.25 inches from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head.
- No props should be included in the photos as they detract from the senior pictured. Nothing illegal/objectionable will be accepted.
- Photo size: 4 inches wide X 6 inches high (Vertical) 300 dpi (Resolution)
PLEASE, DO NOT USE PROPS
To ensure that you have a good quality photo for the yearbook, please refrain from using props (i.e, band instruments, cars, sporting equipment etc.). If you have any questions about our no-prop rule contact us with our contact tab above.
No horizontal photos.
For the yearbook, all of our Senior photo boxes are Vertical, so please take a high resolution, vertical picture from the waist up so the family and friends of the Senior have a quality photo of their seniors face. If you do use a horizontal photo, we will contact you to ask for another one, however if you can not find a second photo we will crop the photo to the best of our abilities to make it vertical.
High Resolution, JPG images.
Please be sure your picture is high resolution, which means refraining from using your cell phone. The Senior photos submitted must be high resolution and in JPG form. Email your photo to our advisor, Toree Markussen, at

Every year the Yearbook staff gets together during the evening to call the senior parents to tell them about Senior Ads (which information can be found in the purchase an ad tab). At the Senior Ad night we also have a little fun with pizza, chips, soda and cookies to bond with the amazing staff. Sophomore, Alex Boecker pours herself some soda while Junior, Haley Shannon grabs a slice of pizza so they can relax before getting down to business.
Through Yearbook, the staff learns valuable lessons on how to handle expensive equipment, time management, and working with others. Junior, Kara Thomason has been with the Richland High School Yearbook since 2013. After learning many skills through Yearbook she is ready to face any job or task that a future employer or teacher hands her. "Yearbook has prepared me for the real world by giving me an opportunity to overcome my shyness so that I can become a better employer and take on any task without giving a second thought to it," says Thomason.
