Performing Arts

Chamber Choir is an auditioned, mixed ensemble for more advanced singers. It is a performance-intensive ensemble, with members expected to master a large amount of repertoire in a shorter period of time. Chamber Choir takes part in large-group contests, solo/ensemble, festivals and public performances. It requires DEDICATION, and it takes LOVE FOR THE ARTS to be apart of Richland High School's Chamber Choir.

This is a select mixed ensemble of 16 to 20 singers, rhythm section, and sound technicians specializing in the performance of vocal jazz literature as well as other styles of music as necessary. Jazz choir will travel to Jazz festivals and competitions throughout the year as well as participate in concerts and local performances.

Treble Choir is an auditioned, non-mixed women's ensemble specializing in choral literature for soprano and alto voices. They will participate in each quarter's concert, large group contests, solo/ensemble and other festivals.

Concert Choir is a non-auditioned ensemble open to any Richland High School Student. No previous singing experience is required. A desire to grow and excel musically is expected. Concert Choir participates in each quarter's concert and large group choral festival as well as other performance opportunities.

Orchestra develops the students’ technical proficiency, enjoyment, and musical understanding on string instruments. Class work includes rehearsals, home practice, listening, performances at concerts and festivals, public service programs, sectionals, and chamber work.

Concert band is a non-auditioned group that any Richland student can join. This band will perform lower-level music, and is meant for students who may either be needing an extra fine arts credit or elective, and or, just want to be a part of the music program and not really have to put in a lot of work. This class is meant to be more relaxed, yet will still push the student to strive to be a better musician.
